Liam McDonagh demonstrated
Chuan-Fa Kenpo in Rosenheim
On 21st of
October 2006, Liam McDonagh from Ireland was at the
Seiwakan-Budo Dojo in Rosenheim to teach Chuan-Fa Kenpo.
McDonagh is Freddy Kleinschwärzers master of Kenpo and came to
Rosenheim to give a seminar for participants from all over
Bavaria. He gave Kleinschwärzer in 1992, while Freddy was
working at the German Embassy in Dublin day for day private
lessons in this style. During this time they became more than
just Master and Student, they became good friends.
The participants
arrived even from the far Bavarian Forest to attend the lesson.
McDonagh first emphasised on the important footwork and stances
in Kenpo. Right after he moved on to show how effective and fast
Kenpo Self Defence is working.
After about 3 ½
hours of intensive training, the participants have been
exhausted and lost their concentration. A good point for
McDonagh to stop the lessons and say some words about the
princips of Kenpo and how he enjoyed to teach this afternoon and
of course to make new friends. As little present, Seiwakan-Budo
Chairman Freddy Kleinschwärzer handed Liam and his partner
Ciaran McDonagh a gift over, for the fantastic seminar.

World Martial
Arts Games 2006 in Canada
- Athletes from Rosenheim
successful like never before -
18.-20. August
2006 in Victoria/BC - Canada
19 gold, 8
silver and 3 times bronze medal. This was the score for the
competitors as last Sunday finished the world martial arts games
in Canada. Fighters from Australia, the USA, Switzerland,
Ireland, Great Britain, Pakistan and the host country Canada
had the honour to measure in more than 20 different combat
disciplines with the best of the scene. Among them traditional
karate, sport karate, Ju Jutsu, Grappling, breaking and many
more. Above all the Olympic character and the idea to work
federation-neutrally made this tournament a highlight of the
completely special kind and represent for most sportsmen a large
step forward on the career leaders.
Freddy
Kleinschwärzer, department manager of Kun-Tai-Ko TuS Bad
Aibling conductor of the Seiwakan Budo e.V. and recently the
president of the NMAGC e.V. (National Martial Arts Games
Committee e.V.) selected a very powerful team of 11 fighters.
Stefanie Kleinschwärzer, was fully busy as coach for the
participating children and young people.
In particular it
made it happy that itself so many fighters from the domestic
region could qualify for this Top Event in Canada. After an
impressive opening ceremony the world games were opened by Ken
Marchtaler the president of the WMAGC. For TuS Bad Aibling
started Sebastian Hofinger, in the color belt discipline "Point
Fihghting Semicontact" he won the 2. Place and in the "Point
Fighting Light contact” he reached the 1. Place. For Seiwakan
Budo Rosenheim e.V. was Bojan Kosanovic successfully with silver
in light contact pointfighting and traditional Kata. Andi
Braunagel won 1.Platz in the traditional Kata and the 2. Place
in self-defense.
Christian Blank became in the
light contact and semi contact third. Anna Lena Kolb and
Angelina Wedmann won both superior disciplines of Pointfighting
of the youth class. Lena Balas convinced the jury and
became winner of
the Freestyle Forms, as well as vice with traditional Kata.
Dennis Kleinschwärzer began in the discipline "self-defense"
with the junior black belts and by its outstanding achievement
with the first place was recompensed. The moreover he won the
Freestyle Forms with the juniors, followed from silver and
bronze in traditional Kata.
The show team
"Kun Tai Ko Martial Arts" sent three competitors into running.
Susi Fink got the first place in the colour belt class of
Freestyle forms, as well as in the synchronous form competition
and stood thereby with its white belt far over all expectations.
Philipp Neumayer convinced by its form in the category "weapon
forms" and won the gold for Germany.
But thus not
enough; he won also gold in the traditional Kata and in
pointfighting. The Flintsbacher "Daniel Gärtner", began in six
different disciplines, which he all finished medals. To
emphasize one must here particularly the victory of the
"Freestyle Karate" and the silver medal in the pointfighting
Semicontact, followed of gold within the range breaking test and
synchronous forms with and without weapons. Daniel Gärtner,
Philipp Neumayer, Susi Fink and Dennis Kleinschwärzer were
allowed to begin in each case in its age group and graduation
again against all leaders of other disciplines around the title
"Grand champion".
Exciting running
around the victory let the spectators the breath come to a hold.
In the end there was the - Grand champion for Philipp Neumayer
of the color belts over 18 years and Grand champion for Daniel
Gärtner of the black belts over 18 years. Differently than used,
in this tournament still another highlight was attached. The US
film star and competitive athlete Mike Chat brought valuable
Samurai swords for the victory of the overall champion - the
winner over all. So all Grand champion fighted against each
other. In the end only one remained, Daniel Gärtner - Overall
Grand champion.
